Lara O. Badmus is the principal owner of Lara Law, a “startup” law practice which commenced operations in March 2023. She has been a lawyer for 29 years and was called to the Manitoba Bar in 2010.

 

Lara practices primarily in the areas of Commercial Law including Real Estate, Family Law & Litigation and Wills & Estates.

 

Lara’s past employments for approximately 9 years, before returning to law practice, were in ethical compliance oversight roles.

  • Recipient of NAMI (Nigerian Association of Manitoba) outstanding community volunteer award;

Adetola Ayanru

Articling Student At Law

I am a foreign trained lawyer with over 17 years of experience, specializing in Probate, Succession, Real Estate, and Commercial Law. With a Master’s in International Business & Commercial Law from the University of Manchester, I bring a creative and practical approach to solving complex legal challenges. My work is driven by a passion for helping individuals and businesses navigate estate planning, trust setup, and the administration of estates with ease.

In Nigeria, I worked as a Partner and Senior Associate in law firms where I focused on delivering efficient solutions for clients, including beneficiaries of deceased estates, and those seeking advice on estate planning and real estate transactions. In Canada, I have worked as a Document Processing Typist and Court Clerk at the Winnipeg Court Office, Manitoba, enhancing my expertise in case management, processing and legal documentation.

● Probate & Estate Administration: Streamlining the process of securing assets for beneficiaries, including pensions, shares, and real estate.

● Estate Planning: Providing advisory services on Trusts, Wills, and Succession Planning.

● Commercial Law: Drafting and reviewing commercial contracts and assisting businesses with legal guidance in Nigeria.

● Court & Legal Documentation: Managing court processes and supporting efficient case handling in the Winnipeg Court Office.

Throughout my career, I've successfully navigated complex legal processes, including the timely processing of Letters of Administration and Grants of Probate. I am an active member of the Nigerian Bar Association, International Bar Association, Association of Succession, Trusts, and Estate Planning Practitioners in Nigeria and contribute to several legal publications.

I am currently an articling student pursuing my next dream of becoming a Lawyer in Manitoba, Canada.

Jemima Agboola is an undergraduate student and a pursuant of a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a

minor in Computer Science.

She is deeply fascinated by the intricate relationship between individuals and believes that the fusion of

social sciences with technological innovations should be understood and applied when addressing

complex issues in society.

She is driven by a strong aspiration to become a practicing lawyer and contribute her analytic skills and

social awareness to advocate for justice and societal change.
